You probably don't know this, but Southeastern Pathology Associates has a full-time presence in the offices of Women's Health Group. If you've had your blood drawn there, you've met a member of their staff.
Southeastern Pathology Associates is a full service laboratory, offering anatomical pathology as well as clinical pathology services.

Serving physicians and patients in Georgia and Florida since 1992, Southeeastern Pathology Associates is a multi-center practice, with thirteen board certified pathologists, providing both inpatient and outpatient services through practice office in 14 locations.

Pathologists are the physicians who specialize in the diagnosis of diseases through the examination of tissues, blood and other body fluids. After completing medical school, pathologists train for an additional 5-7 years to acquire the necessary skills. Physicians from all branches of medicine consult with pathologists to assist them in developing a full picture of diseases affecting their patients.

If you receive a bill from a pathologist it is because your primary physician submitted tissue, blood or another sample from you or your dependent to the pathology laboratory for evaluation by a pathologist or under the direction of a pathologist. Many patients wonder who this mystery physician is, and now you know!
